The Treacherous Feast: Fafnir's Betrayal and the Birth of a Monster

In the days before the sundering Fafnir was a dwarf like any other. In those days the dwarves dug deeply and greedily and fell into a trap set by The Queen of the Underworld. They found a lost treasure hoard in those forgotten halls and rejoiced with a feast. While his companions were lost to a drunken stupor, Fafnir, who had been placed in guard duty, heard voices emanating from the cursed gold. They whispered to him words of how unfair it was that such a noble dwarf like him would only get a fraction of the loot. He deserved much more... And the voices promised him so much more... That night, Fafnir slew all other members of the expedition and took possession of the gold.

The cursed gold and the terrible crime he had committed transformed him, making him as monstrous on the outside as on the inside. He became a terrible Dragon that would always hunger for more treasures and never be sated.
